Here are a few helpful tips before attending a Critter Class

Arrivals and Departures

Upon arriving, you must check in at the admissions desk.  Class starts at the designated time, so if you do not want to miss a minute of the planned activities we suggest that you arrive at the beginning of class.  If you arrive early, please feel free to visit other areas of the museum before class starts.

Instruction

You are your child's teacher for the class.  This allows you the freedom to explore each activity to the development level of your child.  The class facilitator will offer you direction on weekly activities.

Supervision

It is important to supervise your child at all times, not only to allow them to explore safely, but also to help them develop an understanding for concepts such as sharing and cooperating with other students.  Your attentiveness, and supervision, will help the class run smoothly.  Please help the class facilitator by monitoring use of the class and play yard space.  There will be plenty of resources for everyone, but we need your help in maintaining a comfortable class flow.

Siblings

To provide a relaxed and enjoyable experience, we have expanded the age range to allow parents with children between the ages of 1 ½ to 3 ½ years to attend the classes.  Other children may attend only if prior arrangements have been made with the class facilitator before your class day.  An additional $7.50 per class supply fee will be required for any additional child that participates in activities.  Approval for extra children will depend on the number of children enrolled in the program as well as other considerations.  Older children are not permitted to be left unattended anywhere on Museum grounds for their own safety.  Parents that bring unapproved children to class may, at the request of the class facilitator, be asked to leave.
