Through hands-on activities such as sorting items that produce, consume and decompose into categories, students will see the interdependency of plants and animals. Students will also have a chance to see a live animal up close. Students will exercise comprehension skills and critical thinking skills, as well as build vocabulary. Teachers will be given a pre-visit vocabulary list, post-visit activities, as well as an evaluation tool. Students will practice following the 2/3 step direction process, practice and learn vocabulary in the context of the story, and participate in group activities with classmates. |

Through a variety of hands on activities such as: exploring sea and beach items, as well as an up close encounter with a spider in its own traveling ecosystem, students will gain an understanding and appreciation for the many creatures in an ecosystem. Through hands-on activities like: examining the mouth of a mounted alligator head with a life-like baby alligator, students will understand how a mother alligator carries her young. Students will also have a chance to touch a live alligator’s skin and compare it to the pelt of another animal that lives in the same habitat. Teachers will be given a pre-visit vocabulary list, post-visit activities, as well as an evaluation tool.
