I remember my awe at the fact that the cypress had been a mature tree before Columbus discovered America and tried to picture it standing there in the swamp as Native Americans hiked through the forest and sat at its base, just as I was doing then! Later I brought my own children to the Museum, and they both carry special memories of Museum exhibits and special events. My son now brings his own wife and daughter to the Museum whenever they visit Tallahassee. My wife and I have supported the Museum through a Habitat Club membership and unrestricted giving. We have also encouraged our friends and employers to sponsor such events as Market Days, Pioneer Breakfast, and the Jazz & Blues Festival. We consider the Museum to be part of the bedrock of our community and will continue to do our part to assure that others have the opportunity to create the kinds of memories that our family cherishes.“ -- Allan Franklin, Jr., Chief Estimator, Peter Brown Construction, Inc.
