Girl Scouts Badge Day

Junior’s Detective Badge (10:00am – 12:00pm)       Register HERE

During this Badge, girls will make observations, learn how to write in invisible ink, make an identity card with their fingerprints, learn how to use a microscope, and finally go on a scavenger hunt while following clues.

Cadettes-Trees Please! (10:00am – 12:00pm)        Register HERE

Cadettes will learn about the different parts of trees, and explore the different trees and plants they can find at the Tallahassee Museum. They’ll also learn about the prescribed burning of the nature trail, and make a craft using leaves from the trees.

Junior’s Animal Homes Badge (1:00pm – 3:00pm)        Register HERE

During the Junior’s Animal Habitats Badge, girls will learn the essentials within a habitat. They will have a chance to create a habitat by making a collage, and they’ll take a look at what we do to make all the habitats at the Museum healthy for our animals. Girls will lend a hand by helping to pick up items that don’t belong to keep the habitats safe. In closing, they’ll have an up close encounter with a gopher tortoise.

Cadettes-The Important work of animals (1:00pm – 3:00pm)        Register HERE

Girls will learn the historical importance of farm animals while tour the 1880s farm, learn how animals help us as they walk the Florida Wildlife Trail, and finally enjoy an animal encounter while discussing how animals make us feel.
