Girl Scouts Badge Day

September 21, 2019 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Daisies- Learning from the Past (10:00am – 11:45am)       Register HERE

Today, Daisies learn to use resources wisely! While learning Clover’s story, girls will make a garden collage using re-purposed magazines. We’ll also step back in time to the 1880s Big Bend Farm as we compare the ways people lived then and now. In closing, girls will understand how we can all learn from the past to be more resourceful in our own lives.

Brownie Hiker Badge (10:00am – 12:00pm)        Register HERE

Brownies will learn what it means to be a successful hiker! Girls will learn to read a map as they navigate the Nature Trail at the Tallahassee Museum. One really important factor in hiking is knowing what gear to take on a hike. Girls will learn what is important to take, and what should be left behind. We’ll also have a chance to make GORP!

Daisies- R-E-S-P-E-C-T (1:00pm – 2:45pm)        Register HERE

Daisies will learn how to “respect myself and others” from the Girl Scout Law. As we read Gloria’s Story, girls will discuss how they can respect themselves and others, and learn to write a thank you note. They will also have an up close encounter with a Florida native animal and a closing discussion of how we respect wildlife and other animals.

Brownie The Beauty of Bugs (1:00pm – 3:00pm)        Register HERE

Brownies will learn the different parts of the butterfly, get to create spider craft, observe butterfly and bug specimens, and take a bug walk to observe many types of bugs that live here at the museum.
