The exhibit will feature five, large adult American alligators and will include a state-of-the-art life support system, extensive landscaping with natural flora, and unique structures designed to exceed the husbandry needs of the alligators. The new Alligator Exhibit was designed by Coyle and Carron, an award-winning zoo exhibit design firm.
Tallahassee Museum is home to 136 living wildlife across 50 species. The Museum’s previous alligator exhibit closed in 2014 due to age and constantly changing lake levels.
This project is by the generosity of the Museum’s Capital Campaign donors and Leon County Government through the Council on Culture & Arts.
