Experience Living History

Demonstrations at the Bellevue Plantation house

Bringing the past to present

During the weekends, our 1880s Big Bend farm is alive with hands-on demonstrations of the past. Activities on the farm include: quilting, carding wool, tending to the garden, spinning, blacksmithing, and cooking.

Demonstrations are also alive at the Bellevue Plantation house at least 2 weekends of the month.  Activities include: candle-dipping, drop spindle spinning, and cooking.

Music brings history into today at the Turpentine Commissary at least 1 weekend of the month.

Be sure to check our calendar for demonstration dates and for special living history workshops that teach how practical historic methods can be used today as sustainable solutions.
