Bellevue Lawn
The Tallahassee Museum makes history a more meaningful part of a couple’s special day by hosting ceremonies on the lawn of our beautiful 19th century Bellevue Plantation house or inside our 1937 Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. We are proud to offer a variety of affordable, customized wedding packages on the scenic and historically meaningful grounds of the Tallahassee Museum. Our Special Events Staff works with bridal parties one-on-one to create beautiful and memorable events.
Graceful trees, an arbor and a picturesque gazebo lend natural beauty to a wedding ceremony and reception on the 8,000 square foot lawn of the historic Bellevue Plantation house, circa 1840. Bellevue was once home to Princess Catherine Murat, great-grandniece of George Washington. Her husband Achille Murat, was Prince of Naples and nephew of Napoleon Bonaparte. The Murats were among the most colorful figures in Tallahassee during Florida’s territorial period. The lawn of this historic house offers a graceful, scenic setting for your nuptials, helping create memories you and your guests will always treasure.
Basic rental option for an event held during business hours includes: Venue rental for 3 hours, Space for 100 guests, and Staffing. Additional fees apply for the following: Chairs, Tables, Tents, Trail Break Café Catering, After-hours events, and additional staffing.
Bethlehem Church
The historic Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church sets the perfect Southern ambiance for your wedding ceremony when you exchange vows from within. Built in 1937 by a congregation founded in the 1850s, this beautiful 1,140 square foot church offers your wedding authentic Southern charm. Unique and beautiful features include its attached wooden pews, beautiful stenciled windows, and the surrounding live oak and cypress trees.
Basic rental option for an event during business hours includes: Church rental for 3 hours, Indoor seating for party of 75, and Staffing. Additional fees apply for the following: Tents on the adjacent Bellevue lawn for reception, Tables, Outside Chairs, Trail Break Café Catering, and After Hours Events and Additional Staffing.
