The early childhood department offers camp opportunities that are developmentally appropriate for children ages 31/2 to 5 years old entering kindergarten. The activities are open ended to provide each age to learn and participate at their own level and interest. Campers will not only experience our "big bend farm", natural habitat trail and beautiful nature trails they will also be offered a classroom setting equipped with air conditioning to allow these young campers a cool place to recharge as well as a two play yards full of fun experiences to engage and excite any young camper.

Ages: 3 ½ to 5 years
Half Day: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. -- $85/members & $95/non-members per week
Full Day: 7:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. -- $125/members & $135/non-members per week
Early Drop-off: 7:45 a.m.to 9 a.m., $15 per child/camp
Lunch: Children bring their lunch
Extended Care: $15 per child

2012 Pre-School Summer Camp Schedule - Full & Half Day
June 4-8 Cooking Up a Story: Farm Tales - Not only will children be going back in time to do chores down on the farm, they will also be preparing and tasting recipes that have the farm animals stamp of approval such as, the cow's sweet creamy butter recipe, home churned of course! Y'all come now, ya hear!
June 11-15 Spots, Dots, Speckles and Stripes - This camp will be all about camouflage in nature. Campers will make a unique book and learn how color, shape and other characteristics help animals survive in the environment.
June 18-22 Terrestrial Twinkles - Children will learn about the sun's power and star beauty. We will use the sun to cook some fun treats, and learn cool facts about the starry sky. Campers will also make a t-shirt during this session.
June 25-29 Marvelous Mammals and Mystical Marsupials: During this camp the children will get to know the mammals that live at the museum. Games, snacks and fun crafts are all a part of this session. Can you name the only marsupial that lives in our area?
July 9-13 This Class is for the Birds - Our campers will make treats for our bird friends as well as practice eating like our feathered friends. Come join us at the "Bird Buffet".
July 16-20 Creepy Crawly, Gooey Gooey! - If you love spider webs, sticky slime and worms this class is for you! We will make creepy crawly creations and mix and drink bug juice.
July 23-27 Bears, Bugs, Bunnies, Butterflies and Bee's - Bet ya can't say that five times real fast! Each camp day we will explore a new B-utiful adventure. Be there or Be square.
July 30-August 3 Wetter is Better - Come beat the heat and explore what lurks beneath the waves, ponds and streams. We will end our week constructing a kid car wash and have a fun water bash!
