Membership Assistant (Part-time)

Seeking a detail-oriented and professional to assist the Department of Institutional Advancement in the day-to-day activities of development, membership, and marketing. This role oversees and coordinates the activities of membership services including processing of new and renewing memberships, helping coordinate membership promotions to encourage visitors to become members, engaging with the public regarding questions or concerns regarding their memberships. Also this position processes donations, acknowledgment letters and new membership cards. Other duties as assigned.

Tree to Tree Adventures Course Guide (Part-time)

The position provides supervision, guidance, assistance, and exceptional educational and recreational experiences to individuals and groups of people as they participate on the Tree to Tree Adventures course.  Skills in climbing, belaying, working with ropes, and weather observation preferred.  Must be comfortable, able, and/or willing to operate at heights and perform rescues and assist functions associated with the course. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be able to speak effectively to different ages and in front of small to large groups and able to assess and diffuse difficult situations. Must be able to work and communicate effectively as a team member.  Possess the ability to work long hours and irregular shifts outdoors, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed and scheduled.  Contributes to an environment where customer service is a high priority.

Birthday Party Programmer (Part-time; as needed)

Seeking a high-energy, enthusiastic team player responsible for implementing birthday party programs that incorporate the mission and philosophy of the Museum. Primary responsibilities include: setting up and implementing activities for birthday parties, greeting party participants, and assisting them to the party site, facilitating fun and memorable experiences for guests.  Requires a pleasant disposition, ability to work independently, excellent communication, and customer service skills. May also be working hands-on with the Museum’s teaching collection of animals. Hours vary based on scheduled parties. Café Shift Lead (Part-time; up to 29 hours per week on average)

The Tallahassee Museum’s Trail Break Café offers one of kind employment! Situated in the heart of a history and science museum, the Café offers guests a variety of meal options. This position oversees the opening and closing of the Café, along with following all food safety guidelines. This position tracks and maintains product and supply inventory, along with making orders on a weekly basis. In addition, the Trail Break Café Shift Leader creates and supervises the staff schedules and to ensure all regular business and catering runs smoothly. This position will lead in various duties of rentals and catering as needed. The Lead works closely with another Lead on promotions and specials to boost Café sales and revenue. Works closely with the VP/COO to hire and coach Café Assistants. Required Skills – 2 years hot line food experience, 1 year front of house, must be detail oriented, self-motivated, outgoing and customer driven with great communication skills.

Café Assistant (Part-time)

We are looking for an energetic person who is excited about food service to join our Trail Break Café staff! Primary responsibilities include food production, maintaining impeccable food handling quality, preparing for catered events, working catering events as needed, and operating a point of sales system. Candidate must have outstanding customer service skills, the ability to multitask, excellent communication, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Estimated hours are up to 29 hours per week, MUST be available during the week, weekends and some evenings may be required as well. Housekeeper (Part-time)

The Tallahassee Museum is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Part Time Housekeeper to join our team. Primary hours will be from 4pm-8pm Monday through Friday

The Housekeeper must be self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment or alone.  The Housekeeper will be responsible for keeping buildings in a clean and orderly condition. They will also perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls, and removing debris. Duties include gathering and emptying trash, cleaning countertops and other surfaces, cleaning windows and doors, restocking toiletries, pressure washing, performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of needed repairs, cleaning debris from sidewalk and other duties as assigned. Requirements: Two years’ experience in janitorial, housekeeping or a related field of work required.  High school diploma and/or GED preferred.  Must be able to lift and/or move 100 pounds. Visitor Services Retail Team Member (Part-time, up to 24 hours per week)

We are looking for outgoing energetic people who are excited about enhancing our visitors’ experience through the sale of tickets and merchandise on our Visitor Services Retail Team. Primary responsibilities include direct interaction with our visitors and museum staff both in person and on the phone, maintaining impeccable customer service quality while selling tickets and merchandise using a point of sale system, as well as providing information about the museum and upcoming events utilizing the museum’s website and scheduling software and maintaining the visually appealing and inviting appearance of the Museum Store. Candidate must have outstanding customer service skills, retail experience, the ability to multitask, excellent communication, strong computer skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment as a part of a team. Estimated hours are up to but no more than 24 hours per week, must be available on weekends, and some evenings may be required as well.
