Vice President of Philanthropy

The Tallahassee Museum seeks a seasoned and accomplished Vice President of Philanthropy to join its team in shaping a new vision for its future – a future that builds upon its unique 60-year history and values, commitment to its region and propels its mission into the 21st century. The Vice President of Philanthropy will have a unique opportunity to establish a new culture of philanthropy for the Museum, provide strategic direction to the President/CEO and Board and steward the Museum’s established donors, foster new relationships and position the Museum for a successful capital campaign. The Vice President of Philanthropy will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward annual fund, foundation, corporate and planned gift and existing and prospective donors in close collaboration with the President/CEO, Board members and senior leadership staff. The Vice President of Philanthropy will also establish, manage and provide strategic direction for major gifts and planned giving programs that encompasses all phases of development activity from prospect identification to cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. The Tallahassee Museum is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Full Time Housekeeper to join our team.  The Housekeeper must be self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment or alone.  The Housekeeper will be responsible for keeping buildings in a clean and orderly condition. They will also perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls, and removing debris. Duties include gathering and emptying trash, cleaning counter tops and other surfaces, cleaning windows and doors, restocking toiletries, pressure washing, performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of needed repairs, cleaning debris from sidewalk and other duties as assigned.  Requirements: Two years’ experience in janitorial, housekeeping or a related field of work required.  High school diploma and/or GED preferred.  Must be able to lift and/or move 100 pounds.  Full Time Benefits: Paid Vacation, Sick and Holidays.  Medical, Dental, Life, AD&D and Disability insurance available.  Please submit an application and/or resume to;  No phone calls or visits please.

Adventure Course Guide

The Tallahassee Museum’s Tree to Tree Adventures is seeking Part Time (up to 24 hours per week) Course Guides to join our staff. Any candidates will need to be prepared to perform physically challenging tasks while up in our course, so good physical condition and comfort with heights is a must. Customer service is a large aspect of the job, so an inviting personality and an ability to work under pressure is critical to performing the job at an acceptable level. Must be a professional team player, be able to quickly move between tasks, and be dependable. This position is directly responsible for ensuring client safety, maintaining an acceptable standard on our course, and going above and beyond to ensure our clients have an enjoyable time on their adventure. Café and Rentals Assistant

We are looking for an energetic person who is excited about food service and rentals to join our Trail Break Café staff! Primary responsibilities include food production, maintaining impeccable food handing quality, preparing for catered events, working catering and rentals events as needed, working with our birthday programs and operating a point of sales system. Candidate must have outstanding customer service skills, the ability to multitask, excellent communication, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Estimated hours are 12-24 hours per week, MUST be available during the week, some weekend and some evenings may be required as well. Visitor Services Retail Team Member (Part-time, up to 24 hours per week)

We are looking for outgoing energetic people who are excited about enhancing our visitors’ experience through the sale of tickets and merchandise on our Visitor Services Retail Team. Primary responsibilities include direct interaction with our visitors and museum staff both in person and on the phone, maintaining impeccable customer service quality while selling tickets and merchandise using a point of sale system, as well as providing information about the museum and upcoming events utilizing the museum’s website and scheduling software and maintaining the visually appealing and inviting appearance of the Museum Store. Candidate must have outstanding customer service skills, retail experience, the ability to multitask, excellent communication, strong computer skills and enjoy working in a fast paced environment as a part of a team. Estimated hours are up to but no more than 24 hours per week, must be available on weekends, and some evenings may be required as well. Birthday Party Programmer (Part-time; as needed)

Seeking a high-energy, enthusiastic team player responsible for implementing birthday party programs that incorporate the mission and philosophy of the Museum. Primary responsibilities include: setting up and implementing activities for birthday parties, greeting party participants and assisting them to the party site, facilitating fun and memorable experiences for guests.  Requires a pleasant disposition, excellent communication, and customer service skills.
