World Wildlife Day
March 3 is World Wildlife Day. It is a United Nations International day to celebrate all the world’s wild animals and plants and the contribution that they make to our lives and the health of the planet.
This years theme is Connecting People and the Planet: Exploring Digital Innovation in Wildlife Conservation
We will be highlighting how digital conservation technologies and services can drive wildlife conservation, sustainable and legal wildlife trade and human-wildlife coexistence. We will walk around the wildlife trail and discuss the different ways we have used technology and other ways to support the growth and health of these animals.
Parents will meet the museum educator at the red caboose and sign their child(ren) in. Parents are encouraged to leave and come back to pick their child(ren) up at the caboose or stay at the museum with paid admission.
Please wear close toe shoes and bring a water bottle. Be prepared to spend most of the time outside.
*Must preregister online by Tuesday, March 5, by noon
*Children must be at least 5 years old
