Since the early 1980s, Native Nurseries has been sponsoring a winter Bird Seed Benefit to support the Tallahassee Museum.
This year’s sale takes place from Jan. 26th through February the 1st at Native Nurseries. Not only is all bird seed on sale (15% off), but 10% of all seed sales go directly to the Tallahassee Museum for the entire week. Seed may be purchased in two pound quantities through large 50 pound bags. Seed is fresh and of high quality and includes black oil sunflower, Native Nurseries Supreme Blend, Native Nurseries Custom Mix, white proso millet, safflower, thistle, peanut splits, medium cracked corn and more. All bird feeders, including Squirrel-Proof models, will also be on sale (10% off) during the benefit.
Native Nurseries will host two events in conjunction with the Birdseed Benefit on Saturday, January 27th:
Attract Wild Birds to your Yard Workshop at 10 a.m.
Registration is required, please call 850-386-8882 to register. The registration fee is $5.00
Chase Brestle is combining two of his most popular classes into one for this special session. Learn how to attract more and varied birds to your feeders, how to squirrel-proof your feeder and what birds you are likely to attract this winter. In addition, he will teach you how to create a bird garden that goes a step beyond a mere feeding station, one that is both aesthetically pleasing and good for the birds.
Wildlife Encounters with The Tallahassee Museum from 2 to 4 p.m.
Bring the children for a close-up encounter with a critter from the Tallahassee Museum. Native Nurseries resident rat snake, Checkers, will also make an appearance and hot cider will be served.
Both programs and the Birdseed Benefit Sale take place at Native Nurseries, 1661 Centerville Rd. Save on seed and support the Museum!
